PUPPY TRAINING CLASSES

Foundation level course for puppies under 6 months old.

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75.

Maximum 6 per class.

Use of fantastic indoor and outdoor facilities for "real life" training.

Basic obedience - Settle, sit, lie down, stand, stay, come when called, walking on a loose lead, leave it, handling, grooming.

Behaviour - Toilet training, jumping up, puppy biting.

Socialising - Socialisation check list, how to socialise your dog correctly.

Access to tutorial video reminders and handouts.

ADULT BEGINNER

Foundation level course for dogs 6 months and over.

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75.

Maximum 6 per class.

The perfect course for dogs over 6 months old with no formal training.

Basic obedience - Settle, sit, lie down, stand, stay, come when called, walking on a loose lead, leave it.

Behaviour - Jumping up, handling, grooming.

Access to tutorial video reminders and handouts.

KENNEL CLUB GOOD CITIZEN BRONZE AWARD

For those who have completed basic training, either puppy or adult beginner.

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75

Maximum 8 per class.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award aims to produce a dog that will walk and behave in a controlled manner on the lead, will stay in one position on command, will allow its owner to clean, groom and inspect it, a dog that will walk and behave in a happy natural manner, under control on the lead. The dog must also be able to be positioned by its handler for inspection i.e. stand, sit or lie down on either side or on its back, all on the lead. The dog must come to hand when called. The Bronze award aims to provide the handlers with a basic knowledge of understanding and training their canine companion. There will be an assessment with a Kennel Club examiner at the end of the course that you can choose to take part in to gain the official Bronze award.

KENNEL CLUB GOOD CITIZEN SILVER AWARD

For those who have completed Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75

Maximum 8 per class.

The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Silver Award aims to build upon the skills learned in the Bronze Award whilst increasing the level of difficulty. The Silver Award is a natural progression of practical dog training skills and introduces new concepts such as the controlled greeting, road walk and vehicle control exercises which are important in everyday life situations. The Silver Award aims to provide handlers with a good knowledge of understanding and training their canine companion.  There will be an assessment with a Kennel Club examiner at the end of the course that you can choose to take part in to gain the official Silver award.

KENNEL CLUB GOOD CITIZEN GOLD AWARD

For those who have completed Kennel Club Good Citizen Silver

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75

Maximum 8 per class.

AIM The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Gold Award is the highest level of achievement of the Scheme. It builds upon the skills learnt in the Silver Award and develops more advance training skills of the dog and handler. The Gold Award is a natural progression of practical dog training skills and introduces new concepts such as relaxed isolation, stop the dog and send the dog to bed exercises, which are important in every day life situations. The Gold Award aims to provide handlers with a greater knowledge and understanding of their canine companion. Dogs that are awarded a Gold Certificate should reach the required standards in all exercises and be a worthy representative of the Scheme’s highest standard. Where possible it is preferable that certain exercises are tested at indoor and outdoor locations.  There will be an assessment with a Kennel Club examiner at the end of the course that you can choose to take part in to gain the official Gold award.

BEGINNER AGILITY

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75.

Maximum 6 per class.

A 6 week basic dog agility training course held in a secure field.
Small/medium breeds must be at least 10 months old and large breeds must be at least 12 months old
Great for dogs that get bored of formal training!
Content: introduction to agility equipment, motivation, wait, basic courses

BEGINNER HEELWORK TO MUSIC
 
HEELWORK TO MUSIC CLUB

Ongoing classes, 2 hour class per week, £15 (pay as you go)

Maximum 10 per group

Ongoing Heelwork to Music club for enthusiasts.  

Spend time with other enthusiasts working on new moves, having the space to work on your routine and have expert advice to work on any problems.

HOLLYWOOD HOUNDS

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75.

Maximum 6 per class.

Learn how to train and handle your dog for media roles such as television, acting, modelling, advertising.

Stay, poses, go to mark, work at a distance, hold items, work with props, handling skills.  Indoor and outdoor work.  Studio set up with white background, lights and camera.  Create a portfolio for your dog with images taken during the course.

TRICK TRAINING

6 week course, 1 hour class per week, £75

Maximum 6 per class.

Trick training from the beginning with a trick award scheme to follow.

Learn basic and fun tricks, foundation behaviours for more advanced tricks, helpful dog tricks (putting toys away in a box, closing and opening drawers and doors, loading the washing machine) and just great fun tricks such as teaching your dog to "paint", skateboard and more!

MIXED ACTIVITY CLASS

The mixed activity class covers pet dog obedience (working towards Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze, Silver and Gold levels) whilst also including tasters of different dog activities to keep lessons fun and fresh for both you and your dog.  Tasters of agility, obedience, rally, scent and tricks.  You may find that your dog is particularly good at, or really enjoys a particular taster and that can give you an idea of what sort of activity you might like to get into with your dog once they have finished with the Kennel Club Good Citizen scheme!

ONE TO ONE TRAINING

There are many reasons why one to one training may be necessary; your dog may not be able to cope in a class situation yet, you may not be able to commit to a six week course due to work or time commitments or the problem with your dog may be specific to your home or other environment.

One to one training can cover any dog training issue or topic.

£50 per hour at Sutterton Dog Park or £50 per hour plus travel to your home or another location.
